Beth DeWit is an artist of diverse experience and is primarily self-taught, acquiring much of her skills while working as a Decorative Painter for 24 years in the New York Metro area.  Beth is the recipient of the 2023 ArtsAlive Individual Artist Grant. The grant was awarded by Artswestchester and the New York State Council on the Arts for the completion of a new series of paintings entitled “Shelter”, which spotlights the ongoing Climate Crisis. She has exhibited at ArtsWestchester Gallery, White Plains, NY, Riverside Gallery, Yonkers, NY, NRCA Rotunda Gallery, New Rochelle, NY, Peekskill Open Studios, Solo Exhibit at Field Gallery, Peekskill, NY, Beacon Open Studios, Beacon, NY, Mahopac Library, Mahopac, NY, Tompkins Corners and Peekskill Arts Alliance Virtual Exhibits on Zoom and Participant of the Arc Of The Viral Universe Notebook Project, Tompkin County Public Library, Ithica, NY, Ossining Public Library, Ossining, NY, Chappaqua Public Library, Chappaqua, NY, Hudson Valley MOCA and the Ottinger Room, Croton Free Library, Croton, NY. Currently a board member of Peekskill Arts Alliance, Beth holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from the University of Iowa. She is also an experienced registered Yoga Instructor.
