Inner Landscape, Ellen Colcord, painter

Artist Ellen Colcord uses holograms to invoke inner dimensions and 3d effects in her painting. Her art materials are oil paint, gouache, holograms, crystals, string, and ancient stones used to capture and imbibe spiritual energy. Her “meditation markings” throughout her painting create a flow of design and directional energy. Colcord states, ” A meditation mark is like breathing in and breathing out and takes one deeper into the painting”.
Colcord studied extensively religious icon traditions in Siena and Florence Italy.  Her educational background both in ancient and modern art were at the Academia di Belle Arte, Urbino, Italy,  Yale University and New York University.
