Peekskill BID Holiday Banners
OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW:
The Peekskill Business Improvement District (BID), with funding from its reserve, seeks proposals from certified artists who live in Peekskill, those that own a business in Peekskill, and/or are members of the Peekskill Artists Alliance interested in creating new custom artwork to replace the existing holiday banners. Holiday banners will be double sided, full color,
21” wide, 45” long, with 3.5” pockets top and bottom. There will be 150 banners printed to be installed throughout downtown Peekskill during the holiday season. DPW crews will install the banners in early November 2023.
BACKGROUND:
Peekskill rotates seasonal banners throughout the year in downtown. The existing holiday banners are worn out and need to be replaced. They are currently a different size than the other seasonal banners which requires extra work for DPW crews to install. The new banners will be the same size as the other seasonal banners, thus eliminating the need to adjust brackets.
Holiday Banners improve the attractiveness of the downtown, welcome shoppers and diners to our city and showcase our local artists. Holiday Banners will strengthen Peekskill’s identity as an “Arts Community” by providing outdoor visible signs of artworks by local professional artists.

No submissions via mail or in-person shall be accepted.
Artists interested in being considered for this opportunity must submit the following:
- A current resume/CV, indicating that you are either a Peekskill business owner, certified artist, or a PAA
- Up to 3 images of original holiday/winter themed artworks in any 2D medium.
- Format: jpeg. Quality: High-resolution files, preferably w/ minimum image density of 72 dpi and minimum 2,500 pixels. Title: Last Name_Image
- Image Checklist by image number with title, date, medium, size of each piece.
